Job Overview
We are looking to hire a dedicated 360 excavator operator; you will be responsible for driving a 360 digger on a construction site. A typical day could see you excavating and levelling ground according to site plans and
moving heavy objects on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-operating with other Plant Operators
- Performing prestart checks of machines before start of the shift to ensure its reliability and good
appearance - Work to drawings and method statements and work in a safe manner
- Fitting and operating ancillary equipment
- Digging foundations and levelling ground, demolishing existing structures or breaking up concrete
- Landscaping terrain in preparation for building new structures, carrying out lifting operations involving large materials, dredging ditches, rivers and laying pipes
- Operate in accordance with risk assessments (and carry out your own risk assessments where applicable)
- Co-operate with Groundworkers and banks men as required
- Count, store and transport tools and equipment where applicable
- General Ground working duties when not operating the machine
- Basic maintenance of own machines and when required reporting any defect to the Workshop
- Excellent housekeeping
- To perform the job in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures
- To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required from time-to-time
Essential Criteria: - Must hold a valid CPCS or NPORS 360 operator card, Minimum 2 years would be preferred
- The ability to identify and react appropriately to hazards
- Evidence of recent regular grader or roller operation in a civil engineering or mining environment
- Able to work in remote locations
- Working knowledge of Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) and the duties of operators
- Understanding of environmental protection requirements in remote locations
- Flexible to work shifts and overtime when required
- Being reliable and able to develop new skills
- The ability to carry out duties unsupervised, in harsh weather conditions, and during irregular hours when required
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Excellent reporting skills
- You must have a valid ID which allows you to work in the UK
Desirable Criteria
- Effective communication skills
- Experience of working within a forestry environment and water-bound forest road construction
- Understand (PUWER) and (COSHH)
- Valid first aid certification
- Blue / Red CPCS card for Wheeled Loading Shovels
- Able to identify actual / potential machine faults
